We will replace these with taller and wider arches that take advantage of the extra width in the walls to accommodate built in cabinets and bookshelves. Note that the arches we removed were not original, and that we found the rails for pocket doors that had been cut and removed during a previous remodel. Man we would have loved to have found the original doors in there!
