Exterior – scraping, prepping, painting

This is ongoing work. We are scraping much of the house ourselves, including pieces of siding we removed from the rear of the house prior to demolition, in order to have some on hand for repairs of the existing original siding on the house. The trim around the windows and along the belly bands was removed/altered when much of the house was covered in cement siding, probably in the 50’s. We’re using clues left under the cement and in the neighborhood to recreate what was likely here before. Still undecided in the paint ourselves vs pay a small fortune to a really cool local painting company. Particular point of interest are the new knee braces which are a beautiful recreation of the existing but now too large braces, and the spectacular basket weave soffits designed to match the front of the house
